♪ ♫They say its my birthday!♪ ♫

My eyes could barely open, it felt like there was ten pound weights on each of my eye lashes. My eyes were extra heavy because I woke up every hour. I don’t understand why I’m having so much trouble waking up now because I had no problem waking up at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. Well if I want to celebrate my birthday I need to get up and wake everybody else up, wait a minute it’s 5:30 isn’t it. Well my parents are already awake which makes my wake up call 2 times less fun. I call it the lights on lights off approach, all I do is turn the lights on and off the lights hence the name. And it surely did the job.

After getting everybody awake we went down to breakfast ate a beautiful meal and packed our bags. After that we stored our bags and then the fun begun… Brrring Brrring the cab arrived at the hotel and we left for the science center. When we arrived I was literally shaking with excitement we bought our tickets and my parents bought an extra ticket for me and Shia to get a larger than life tour of the human body. I was of course the first person to enter the science center and right when I walked in my mind was blown from amazement of all the optical illusions they had on display, I loved it.

One of the first activities we did was the human body experience, I was super excited to get swallowed. When we bought our tickets the lady at the counter made sure we weren’t claustrophobic and I didn’t have a problem with that. When Shia and I got out we didn’t see mom or dad so we looked around until I spotted dad. Apparently there was an electricity show going on but I wasn’t too interested, so I did the typhoon machine instead. It was awesome. Then we went outside got a taxi and went back to the hotel to pick up our bags and then to the border crossing. Just before leaving we had bought a chocolate peanut brownie cake, I was going to ask if I could eat it in the taxi but I knew the answer.

I think one of the coolest parts about my birthday was I got to spend it in two different countries. Although I did have to spend part of my birthday going through the passport check and waiting in lines but over all it was amazing. Seriously how many people do you know that spent their birthday out of your home country and in two different foreign countries in one day. And even though we had to do border crossings it didn’t take long to do it. The biggest down side to the border crossing is the bus you have to take, the bus operators make sure to fit as many people as humanly possible seriously if their was an air pocket there would be someone in it. But before that it wasn’t so bad. But catching a taxi wasn’t the easiest because there are only so many taxis.

“On the road again, Can’t wait to get on the road again” Ok be honest how good was that on a scale of 1-10? never mind. The outside of the Legoland hotel from a distance it towered higher than I was expecting. And when we arrived Shia said we should stay outside for a bit, I was wondering if she saw the giant castle inside the lobby. So when she finally decided to go in with me I could feel my mind exploding behind the reception desk there were about 4,000 minifigures and one giant one on a bike acting as a magnifying glass. Then about 6 meters in front of reception there was the hull of a lego ship. And another 6 meters in front of the ship was the lego castle. And both the ship and the castle are floating in legos. And as we moved on to the elevators apparently they played music as you went up and down. And each elevator had a different song playing, I’ve included a youtube clip of the elevator below for your enjoyment.

The door man for our floor was pretty awesome he was a pirate captain made entirely out of legos. I thought I was becoming the dumbest person ever because I don’t think it’s healthy having your mind blown so many times in one day. I think the coolest part of our room was they put a scavenger hunt inside to give you something to do, not like there is a lack of things to do. There were big bugs made out of legos hanging on the walls and a monkey sitting on top of our treasure chest. The room had so much detail it was unbelievable.

I had the best birthday in the world almost all I needed were my friends and it would have made one of my top 3 birthdays ever. But it was still an awesome birthday without you guys.

Happy (belated) birthday Liam! Now my mind is blown and I’m the dumbest person ever after reading this and seeing the video. Also, “On the road again” is one of my favorite songs. I can relate to what you are saying!! 2 countries WOW! Not to mention I (well along with Kameron) have spent a LOT and I mean a LOT of birthday’s at Lego land when we lived in CA. SO, hearing you describe your birth-DAY is very super special and fantastic! What a great elevator ride! SO happy for you! On a different note, many years ago you told Suri that my name is Captain Awesome, so every time she talks to me, I think of you! Congrats, Liam……YOU ROCK young man! Thank you for sharing! Happy Birthday, Liam! I’m not even a Lego person, but you really make me want to check this place out. I think all elevators need disco balls and music.
    Happy travels, Mrs. Dallapiazza
